Newcomers have 30 days after establishing residency to get their NC Drivers License. A NC drivers license is good for 5 years. To obtain a license you must apply in person at a driver's license office and take the vision, sign recognition & written tests (we strongly recommend studying the " Driver's Handbook", available at DMV offices or at the DMV website).
